Arts Center Front of the House Manager

Wallingford, CT

Choate Rosemary Hall seeks a front of house manager for the Paul Mellon Arts Center. 

This is a non-benefits eligible position with work hours primarily evenings and weekends during scheduled theater performances and concerts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Event set-up
  • Interfacing with the public, student ushers, box office personnel and the stage manager
  • Assisting with handicap seating, directing patrons to restrooms, prior to a performance, as well as during intermission
  • Being present to help in the event of an emergency
  • Ensuring that the audience has left after the end of the performance
  • Creating a welcoming and safe environment for the audience, as well as communicating with members of the production staff, ushers, box office, stage manager


  • Age 18 or older; age 21 or older preferred
  • Familiarity with the performing arts field preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility, and ability to work as a team member
  • Ability to ascend/descend stairs
